What SpotHeld does
SpotHeld is software for service businesses that already arrange jobs with customers. It helps a business create booking records, share policy-backed deposit links, collect payment through its connected Stripe account, and keep a payment-status timeline.
SpotHeld is not the service business shown on a customer page, does not perform the booked service, and is not an escrow service. The service business—not SpotHeld—sets its customer policy, decides whether a deposit is retained or refunded, and is responsible for the job.
Accounts and business responsibilities
- Provide accurate account, business, customer, service, and appointment information.
- Keep login credentials and account access secure, and promptly report suspected misuse.
- Use SpotHeld only for lawful business activity and only with customer data you are permitted to collect, use, and share.
- Keep the customer-facing cancellation, rescheduling, deposit, and refund policy accurate before sharing a link.
- Respond to customers, deliver the booked service, and handle customer complaints, refunds, disputes, taxes, permits, and legal obligations for the business.
You may not use SpotHeld for fraud, deceptive practices, unlawful or high-risk goods or services, abusive communications, unauthorized access, interference with the service, or collection of card credentials outside Stripe's hosted payment flow.
Customer deposits and Stripe
Customer deposit payments are processed by Stripe for the connected service business. The business shown on the deposit page is responsible for its Stripe account and for the payment, refund, dispute, chargeback, and negative-balance obligations Stripe assigns to that account. SpotHeld receives payment identifiers and status information needed to keep the booking record; it does not store full card numbers.
Use of Stripe is also subject to Stripe's applicable agreements and policies. SpotHeld may restrict payment features when Stripe reports that an account is incomplete, restricted, or unable to accept charges.
SpotHeld Pro subscription
The price, billing cadence, taxes, and renewal terms shown immediately before Stripe Checkout are the terms of the subscription you choose. Monthly plans renew monthly and annual plans renew annually until cancelled. Stripe processes subscription payments for SpotHeld; ordinary payment-processing fees for customer deposits are separate.
An owner or admin can cancel through the Stripe billing portal available in Settings. Cancellation stops the next renewal and normally takes effect at the end of the current paid period. It does not automatically reverse a charge already completed. Any refund rights are those expressly shown at checkout or required by law. There is no separate fee to cancel.
If you cannot authenticate to your account, you may also request cancellation by emailing billing@spotheld.com. Include your business name, but do not send passwords, card numbers, or authentication codes.
If a subscription payment fails or is reversed, paid features may be limited after any status or grace period shown in the account. We may change future prices or plan features with advance notice; a change does not alter a billing period already paid.
Service changes, suspension, and account closure
We may maintain, improve, or discontinue features. We do not promise that SpotHeld will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may restrict or suspend an account to protect customers, providers, other users, or the service; to address suspected fraud or unlawful activity; or when these Terms or a provider requirement are violated.
You remain responsible for exporting information you need and for legal recordkeeping. Account closure does not erase payment, consent, security, or accounting records that we must retain for legitimate business or legal purposes.
Ownership and feedback
You retain rights in the business and customer information you submit. You give SpotHeld permission to host, process, transmit, and display that information only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service. SpotHeld and its licensors retain rights in the software, branding, and service materials. Feedback may be used without an obligation to compensate you.
Disclaimers and responsibility
SpotHeld is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties and are not responsible for a service business's work, a customer's conduct, Stripe's services, internet outages, or indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these Terms excludes responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
Governing law and changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of California, excluding its conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory law requires otherwise. We may update these Terms prospectively. If a change is material, we will provide notice through the service or a contact address associated with the account and will publish a new effective date and version before the updated terms apply.
